Barry Stamp Launches Lib Dem Campaign to Stop the
M6 Toll Expressway

Barry Stamp and members of Stafford Liberal Democrats were out in force on Saturday delivering leaflets in hundreds of homes in Penkridge which could be effected by the proposed new M6 Toll Express Way. Speaking at the launch of the campaign Barry said he was appalled that the Labour Government could even suggest a new four lane motorway should be built. He said that if such a road was built local residents faced more pollution and noise.

"It is shear madness on the part of the Labour Government to think we can just keep building more and more roads. I believe it really was time they should think about alternatives which are more friendly to the environment," said Barry.

Barry Stamp Demanded Council Scrap Its Plan To
Cut Door To Door Rent Collectors

At a recent meeting of the Borough Council's Housing Scrutiny Committee Barry Stamp demanded that the Council's plan to scrap door to door rent collectors be reconsidered. This was turned down when all the Conservative Councillors voted again Barry's proposition.

Barry is extremely worried that people living in villages such as Adbaston and Seighford, where there is no shop or post office will not be able to pay their rent easily.
