Liberal Democrat
Shadow Minister
invited to visit Stafford |
As part of his campaign against the new
Toll Expressway Barry Stamp has invited John Thurso MP - the
Lib Dem Shadow Secretary of State for Transport to visit Stafford.
Barry met John Thurso at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Bournemouth
and raised the issue of the new motorway with him. Barry was
pleased that John and the rest of the Liberal Democrat MPs in
Parliament are backing his call to get the motorway plan scrapped.
"I am pleased John has agreed to look at his diary and try
to find sometime in his busy schedule to visit Stafford. Time
is running out to let the Government know the town does not want
this motorway. John will be able to see first hand just how the
environment would suffer, and how opposed to the scheme local
residents are. This will certainly help him and the other Liberal
Democrat MPs argue against the plan," said Barry. |
