Bradley Village could be brought
to a standstill if the Borough Council approve the planning application
to allow caravan storage at the "Fosters" nursery site
Barry Stamp is please to say
he has recently heard that the County Council's Highways Department
are objecting to the amount of traffic that could be generated
by the proposed caravan storage facility at the "Fosters"
nursery site. Barry has been campaign for years to get the County
Council to recognise that the traffic this site generates cannot
be sustained by the Village. At the recent public meeting called
by Bradley Parish Council to allow local residents to have their
say about the storage plan Barry said that, in his opinion, the
deciding factor would be the County Council's view on the traffic
situation and that if residents had any chance of defeating the
plan it was important the County Council objected.
"Three years ago I did get
the County Council to carry out a traffic management review in
Bradley. They concluded that the Village did have a problem but
they could not come up with any workable ideas as to how it could
be overcome. What they did say at that time was that as the garden
centre had just changed hands and the amount of traffic was decreasing
they would keep the situation under review. I am pleased that
they have now agreed to object to this latest plan which would
only mean more traffic would be generated. To make matters worse
the new traffic would be cars and caravans which I believe would
have great difficulty negotiating the tight bend in the Village.
Luckily the Highways Department appears to agree with my view,"
said Barry Stamp.
