Isolated As County Council Withdraw Bus Services |
Bradley
has almost been cut off from the outside world when it comes
to public transport with the decision of the County Council to
withdraw the 482 bus service from the Village. With less than
a weeks warning residents found the service was to be scrapped
except for one bus into Stafford at around 7.30am! This means
that the six buses a day that once served the village have been
reduced to just one. Barry Stamp, is working with the Parish
Council, to fight this decision and get a service reintroduced.
"It is appalling the County Council should take this stance
and isolate the Village. They say residents can use the Rural
Link Service instead, but what they fail to see is that this
only runs on a Saturday and then only to Penkridge. This certainly
does not help residents get to Stafford. I believe the cut is
nothing more than an attempt to save money. I will be fighting
alongside Bradley Parish Council to get a service reintroduced
which will be more useful to local residents," said Barry
Stamp. |
