Youth Centre Under Threat |
Gnosall
Youth Centre is threatened with closure as the County Council
plan to cut Youth Service spending. Barry Stamp reacted angrily
to the news as he strongly believes the youth clubs run in Gnosall
are a real asset to both the Village and surrounding communities.
"I am appalled that the County Council are thinking of closing
down the youth centre in the village, as this is one of a few
facilities for young people in the area. They are hoping that
local people will step in to provide the money and time to run
a replacement service, and if they don't they will no doubt blame
the community for not doing so. There is very little for young
people to do in Gnosall as it is, and if the youth facility closes
they will just be left on the streets to find their own entertainment.
I have written to the County Council asking for an urgent meeting
to discuss the plan and will be fighting hard to prevent the
closure taking place," said Barry Stamp. |
