At the European Elections held on June 10th the Liberal Democrat share of the vote in Stafford went up when compared with the same elections four years ago! Both the Labour and the Conservatives share of the vote went down!

Labour fell by a massive 7.9% while the Conservatives did little better and lost 6.5%.

Barry Stamp, who has been selected as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Stafford said he was delighted with the result. "Despite the upturn in fortune of the UKIP the Liberal Democrats in Stafford increased their vote. We were the only one of the three main parties to actually do this! As well as increasing the vote Stafford Liberal Democrats also signed up a number of new party members during the days leading up to election day," said Barry
